The purpose of this project was to create my own building proposal for a tribute to the tragic 9/11 incident. I picked this idea because I feel that the best way to give the innocent people who lost their lives that day a proper tribute is by creating a natural beautiful place. Not a tribute based on a large flashy building etc. A park to me is a way to peacefully give them their tribute they deserve. This building builds peace because the attention grabbing architecture and beautiful nature will make you feel safe and peaceful.

You know you have arrived at this building, because it’s an attention grabber. The beautiful park and large architectural globe will tell you that this is it. The beauty of this architecture accompanied with the park will be something you can not not pay attention to.
When you enter this park, you feel calmed. The green grass, large trees and chirping birds of the park will give you the comforting sights, sounds, smell, and feel of true tranquility. All of this, including the architecture in the middle of the park, should add a great sense of comfort and ease for everyone there while the building will almost stun you with the size of the globe and how you can go inside of it. The quote I decided to put on the globe is from the bible and it says, “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” I chose this quote because I feel that anyone who lost a loved one that day will feel the need to get revenge.

To walk through this beautiful park you need to be adventurous and curious of your surroundings. You will have the desire to see every inch of this park inside and out. You will have the desire to do so because, with its intriguing architecture and gleaming pond, there will not be something you will not find enjoyable to gaze upon during your visit and this park.

Once you reach the center of this park you will come face-to-face with the beautiful architecture/building that you can enter yourself. It will make everyone who sees it be in awe. Once you enter the building and you are truly in the very center of everything, you will feel at peace. Being in the center will only bring you the comfort you need to move on and take the next step forward.

When you leave this building, you are transformed, because you will feel almost like all the innocent people who lost their lives at Ground Zero can peacefully and finally be put to rest. The beauty they will feel is from the symmetry of the architecture and wonderful smells flooding their nostrils. I believe that this will make finally make the place where their loved ones lost their lives and very tranquil, peaceful place. Then everyone leaving the park will feel better about finally having something to commemorate everyone that day.
