In my disease class, I have to do research about how disease spread in the world. I looked at hepatitis A in south America.
Hepatitis A a is virus that attacks south America. Hepatitis A virus usually spreads from person to person. The common ways to get the virus include: household contacts, sexual contacts, attendees at childcare centers, persons sharing illegal drugs, and persons sharing food or beverages. And when a person put something in the mouth that has been contaminated with the stool of a person with hepatitis A. This type of transmission is called the “fecal-oral” route. For this reason, the virus is more easily spread in areas where there are poor sanitary conditions or where good hygiene is not observed such as South America.(Department of health, 2010)
