For disease class, we went to the field museum and visited the DNA exhibit to learn about how DNA is related to disease. We learned what scientists do with DNA. We learned that with DNA, the person can have genetics diseases. When DNA is mutated, instructions or genes that are in us can get erased or changed. This can lead to disease.
When we were there, we watched a video about DNA. We went into a science lab to interview scientists and ask them questions about DNA. These are the questions I asked:
- Do DNA increase while a person grow up?”As we grow, our chromosomes get shorter and shorter.”
- Does DNA control all of our body parts? “NO, DNA codes our body parts, but doesn’t control it.”
- Are all of our cells in our body important? “yea they are but, we can still live without some of them”
