For our second action project in Art of Rhetoric we had to find a problem in the world and fight for it. We did this by choosing a topic that was important to us; something we really cared about, and figure out a way we could peacefully support it. For me it was animals; if I could save all the endangered and neglected animals I would, but you have to start small and you have to start somewhere. I did a lot of research on puppy mills and what was being done to make sure they could be shut down for good. The Humane Society of the United States had a plan in action to get as many people as possible to sign a type of petition. Another option on the website was to pledge to never support the puppy mill industry by buying or selling puppies. I really enjoyed this project because I learned a lot about the Humane Society of the United States and I felt like the small action I took really went a long way. I got many people to sign and get involved, it was a very rewarding feeling to know I made some kind of a difference. Below is a slideshow of my final presentation explaining the cause.
