For my Design and Engineering Course, I designed a computer that is powered by both a solar panel and a wind turbine. The wind turbine is located on the bottom part of the computer and the solar panel is fixed on the lid, so you can point it to the sun, whether the computer is open or closed. I designed this to create clean energy computers which don’t require electricity to charge. For instance, in Africa, computers are hard to use because of the lack of electricity. I lived there for 71% of my life (in 2012) and I didn’t know what a computer was because it was expensive. I believe this could be affordable anywhere, because it’s more cost effective. This helps me become a global citizen because I would create something that everyone can use.
