For the Hurricane Season course, we collected testimonies and turned them into an organized narrative by compiling different voices. First I had to find three to four people who experienced or were familiar with displacement of some sort. I interviewed three sources that lived as refugees in Tanzania and moved a lot because of civil wars in Burundi, between the Hutu and Tutsi. After I completed the interviews, I organized those different voices into a conversation which I turned into a video. The challenge was to tell how unnatural disasters are affecting our communities; the answer was right in front of me and I didn’t realize that being a refugee is already an unnatural disaster. Please watch my video below and comment or share it with others.
