New term… New civic challenge:
— Take one core-value of Global Citizenship and turn it into an educational Comic Skit…
…as a warm-up for creating mini-documentaries (“micro-mentaries”) for our civic community.

Click below to open the storyboards & watch the skits created & performed by GCE Chicago students.

“No man is an island”

Working on defining terms,
I feel that words carry both potentials & limitations:
I feel in a game of expanding and blocking:
– Why to expand?
– To provide an improvisation space.
– Why to block?
– To guide the jamming.
Music might be indeed a fit metaphor:
we need both
scales & intuition
to create good Chicago blues;
there’s interdependence,
there’s a peninsula:
one side is the land
where we feel grounded to where we belong;
the other side is the sea
Carving English for the right terms,
a fit sculpture may be “balance”:
it keeps in mind to pursue a common vocabulary
but still lets poetry breath
and sing the Blues.
